About the Role
Join WaterAid as the UK Internal Communications & Engagement Partner, where you will collaborate closely with UK senior leaders, teams, and employee-led groups to develop and execute strategic internal communications and engagement initiatives. Your work will drive the delivery of WaterAid’s mission, strengthen organisational communication capabilities, and enhance the employee experience.

As the primary communications and engagement partner for the UK, you will proactively shape key messages and create meaningful opportunities that connect colleagues to purpose, strategy, and each other. You will champion diversity, equity, and empowerment (DEE) through initiatives that celebrate cultural diversity, promote inclusion, and foster a thriving workplace.

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing the UK staff communications plan and calendar, ensuring alignment with global and WaterAid UK priorities.
- Managing all UK internal communications support requests, advising UK leaders and teams on communications plans and channels.
- Overseeing key UK internal communications channels, including the UK country pages on the global intranet (The Spring) and the UK Connect Teams space.
- Partnering with the UK Head of People to review communications for risk and clarity.
- Supporting UK employee groups such as the Staff Representation Group and Diversity Group as a trusted communications advisor.
- Providing advisory communications support to UK Functional Directors for strategic initiatives.
- Leading reactive and crisis internal communications support in the UK.
- Designing, managing, and delivering projects such as WaterAiders Week in the UK, including events like the UK WaterAiders Fair.
- Acting as a key communications partner for change management projects involving UK hosted and financed roles.
- Supporting communication and staff engagement related to the office move from 20 Canada Square to new premises.
- Activating communication around the employee engagement survey in alignment with global communications.

Requirements

Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven success in internal communication and engagement roles.
- Demonstrable branding and design capability.
- Understanding of employee experience concepts.
- Project management experience.
- Skilled in designing engaging and impactful communications.
- Experience using and designing in SharePoint.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a manner that reflects WaterAid’s values: Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity, and Innovation.

Qualifications
Although not essential, the following are desirable:
- Experience working in a communication or engagement role within a People & Organisational Development team.
- Experience collaborating with staff resource groups.
- Additional language skills such as French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
