Hours
9-week rolling rota, 7.5 hours per day across a 5-day working week including weekends. Working hours scheduled between 8:00am and 10:00pm. Includes a 1-in-9 rolling on-call rota with an on-call allowance of £200 per week. Bank Holiday working as per normal rota.

About the Role
The Urgent Care Team Leader supports the Urgent Care Service Manager in the operational planning, delivery, and development of the non-clinical components of the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) and Out of Hours (OOH) services. This multi-site role involves working collaboratively with the Service Manager and other team leads to ensure all service areas—including Primary Care Centres, Fleet, Quality & Compliance—are safe, well-resourced, and effectively managed. The Team Leader also oversees additional service lines such as extended access, driving efficiencies and optimising workflows.
The role requires the post holder to be a trained Mental Health First Aid champion, a Freedom to Speak Up Champion, and an Infection Prevention and Control champion. First aid training is also required.
Key responsibilities include operational leadership, deputising for the Service Manager, participating in the Tactical (Silver) On-Call rota, monitoring access targets and KPIs, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards (e.g., CQC, Health and Safety), and managing day-to-day performance of operational staff.
The Team Leader line manages staff including recruitment, retention, performance, attendance, and grievance matters. They conduct regular 1-1s, appraisals, training, and team meetings to foster engagement and development, promote a positive team culture, and ensure effective communication.
Additional duties include conducting staff and compliance audits, contributing to quality assurance and contract reporting, supporting health and safety management, responding to complaints and incidents, engaging with stakeholders, supporting service improvement initiatives, and managing risk and resilience to ensure services are properly resourced and resilient.
Experience
Experience in operational leadership and team management within healthcare or urgent care settings is highly desirable. Proven ability to manage multi-site services and deliver high-quality non-clinical service components.

Qualifications
