About the Borough
Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 317,600 residents. Stretching from the dynamic neighbourhood of Streatham in the South to the iconic landmarks of Waterloo in the North, we are proud to be the 9th largest borough in London. Our diversity is our strength, with more than 130 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community. With exceptional schools, lush green spaces including Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives, and world-renowned institutions such as St Thomas's Hospital, Lambeth offers an enriching and dynamic environment.

About the Team
The VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) Team at Lambeth Council is dedicated to addressing and preventing all forms of violence and abuse that disproportionately affect women and girls, while recognising that VAWG can impact people of all genders. Our team plays a key role in delivering the Lambeth Made Safer VAWG Strategy 2021-2027, which focuses on prevention, early intervention, support for victims and survivors, and holding perpetrators to account. We work closely with a range of partners, including the police, healthcare providers, social services, and community organisations, to build a coordinated community response. Our team is committed to fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, and continuous learning, ensuring that all team members have opportunities for personal and professional development. By joining our team, you will be contributing to meaningful change and helping to create a safer Lambeth for all residents.

About the Role
As one of the VAWG Officers, you will lead on the coordination, mobilisation and administration of domestic abuse perpetrator interventions in Lambeth in order to ensure the effective operation, performance and delivery of relevant processes. You will work in close partnership with partners from the voluntary, statutory and community sector to ensure they are familiar with the multi-agency domestic abuse perpetrator panel processes, and interventions, and their role and responsibilities within them. You will provide case consultancy support to Lambeth practitioners in relation to domestic abuse perpetrator interventions and working with domestic abuse perpetrators and develop and deliver training and briefing sessions to a range of Lambeth practitioners on reducing harm from perpetrators. You will also contribute to administrative responsibilities in relation to safeguarding victims and survivors of VAWG, including for the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and Sexual Exploitation and Harm Panel (SEHP).

Requirements

Experience
This role requires a lead with excellent project management skills, capable of driving systemic change, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that all interventions are survivor-centred, trauma-informed, and equity-focused. It is essential therefore that you have demonstrable experience of working within the VAWG sector, and significant experience of working in a multi-agency setting.

About you
You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the needs and experience of victims of VAWG, and of related service delivery. This role is ideal for a proactive and experienced professional who is passionate about creating a safer, more inclusive Lambeth where all residents, regardless of gender, can live free from violence and abuse. Your work will directly contribute to improving safety, support, and justice for survivors, ensuring that our services are accessible, responsive, and aligned with our commitment to equity and diversity.

Qualifications
Successful candidates will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Further information about the DBS can be found at www.homeoffice.gov.uk/agencies-public-bodies/dbs.
