About the Role
The Telegraph is seeking a thoughtful and creative video journalist to join our growing audio-visual storytelling unit. You will research, produce, and edit video content for the website, app, and social media platforms. Reacting swiftly to the news agenda, you will create and publish high-quality visuals to ensure The Telegraph’s video content reaches the widest possible audience and supports our subscription goals.

Key responsibilities include monitoring various sources of video content such as agency feeds and social media to find the best stories, reacting quickly to breaking news by sourcing relevant video or collaborating with partners, scripting, editing, and producing short-form video content that delivers best-in-class visual storytelling. You will self-shoot films on location, including interviews, short features, and mini-documentaries, and operate basic in-house studio facilities including camera operation, lighting, vision, and audio mixing.

You will also be responsible for sourcing, editing, and delivering content with all associated metadata efficiently while maintaining excellent editorial standards. Effective distribution of video articles within The Telegraph’s CMS, including writing accompanying text and curating video stories in the correct article pages, is essential. The role requires the ability to construct and deliver complex creative edits to tight deadlines using multiple editing tools.
