About the Role
The Telegraph is seeking a thoughtful and creative video journalist to join our growing audio-visual storytelling unit. You will research, produce, and edit video content for the website, app, and social media platforms. Reacting swiftly to the news agenda, you will create and publish high-quality visuals to ensure The Telegraph’s content reaches the widest possible audience and supports our subscription goals.

Key responsibilities include monitoring various sources of video content such as agency feeds and social media to identify compelling video stories, reacting quickly to breaking news by sourcing relevant video or collaborating with partners, scripting, editing, and producing short-form video content to deliver best-in-class visual storytelling. You will also be responsible for sourcing, editing, and delivering content with all associated metadata efficiently while maintaining excellent editorial standards.

Distribution of video articles within The Telegraph’s CMS, including writing accompanying text, is part of the role. As you develop your skills, you will progress towards self-shooting films on location, operating in-house studio facilities, and delivering more complex creative edits using multiple editing tools.

This role demands adaptability and a readiness to work outside standard hours to meet the fast-paced news cycle.
