Hours
Permanent, Full Time – 35 hours per week

Salary
£40,649 to £44,825 per annum (London weighted salary) or £36,073 to £40,014 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience, plus ECU allowance (if policy requirements are met)

About the Role
Join our Housing Specialisms Team at L&Q as a Vulnerability and Safeguarding Specialist and help deliver an excellent service for residents. This role is ideal for a customer-focused team player with expertise in vulnerabilities and safeguarding. You will work closely with housing teams to ensure they respond positively and proactively to the needs of vulnerable residents, including safeguarding concerns. You will help develop the knowledge and skills of housing staff regarding vulnerable people and safeguarding, ensuring they work within L&Q’s safeguarding framework and embed safeguarding procedures into their daily work. Your role includes providing advice, guidance, and mentoring to frontline housing staff, occasionally delivering training, and contributing as a subject matter expert to wider safeguarding and vulnerability strategies. You will also monitor and collate KPI information monthly. This role supports hybrid working with 20% to 40% of contractual hours worked from the reporting office or working location.

Requirements

Experience
Demonstrable and relevant experience of working with vulnerable adults and children. Relevant work experience and responsibilities in safeguarding and vulnerability.

About you
Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage a complex workload and meet deadlines. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage a diverse customer base. Good relationship-building and communication skills with colleagues and residents. Confident in providing advice, guidance, and mentoring to frontline housing teams on vulnerability and safeguarding.

Qualifications
A relevant degree is desirable (e.g., social work, nursing (mental health), health and social care) or a Diploma/NVQ level 4 in health and social care or equivalent (essential). Safeguarding level 3 training is desirable. Sound understanding of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.

Additional Requirements
The successful candidate will need to apply for or hold a Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate to work within the team.
