About the Role
Bring your curiosity, numerical strength, and coding skills to a role where you can help shape how investment decisions are informed by data and risk insights. You will join an Investment Desk that values thoughtful analysis, continuous improvement, and practical problem-solving. This is an excellent early-career opportunity to learn from experienced investment professionals and build real-world multi-asset investing experience. You will have room to grow your technical toolkit and expand your market knowledge through meaningful exposure and mentorship. If you are excited by markets and motivated by impact, you will feel at home here.

As an Associate on the Investment Desk within J.P. Morgan Personal Investing, you will support the analytics, reporting, and quantitative tools that help inform portfolio and asset allocation decisions. You will work closely with senior investors and partners across J.P. Morgan Personal Investing and the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, learning how investment views translate into risk-aware, multi-asset portfolios. You will take ownership of structured, detail-oriented processes while also looking for opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve them. You will contribute to a culture that values rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Your responsibilities will include supporting day-to-day investment desk analytics, reporting, and data quality checks; maintaining and enhancing proprietary risk and quantitative investment tools; automating repetitive and data-heavy workflows such as reporting pipelines and model inputs/outputs; analyzing portfolio exposures and risk metrics to support investment decision-making; contributing to research and analysis that informs asset allocation and portfolio risk discussions; partnering with senior team members on projects spanning market analysis, modeling, and process improvements; documenting methodologies, processes, and key assumptions to improve transparency and repeatability; and communicating insights clearly through concise written updates and well-structured outputs.

Requirements

Experience
Strong numerate and analytical foundation in a quantitative discipline such as STEM, economics, finance, or similar. Demonstrated interest in financial markets and investing, with the ability to discuss key market drivers clearly. Practical coding experience in Python and/or MATLAB (academic or professional). Strong Excel skills, including building reliable, audit-friendly models and analysis. Experience working with structured datasets, including cleaning, validation, and reconciliation of inputs/outputs. High attention to detail and a consistent approach to quality control and error checking. Ability to manage recurring deliverables while prioritizing effectively and meeting deadlines. Continuous-improvement mindset, with a track record of simplifying or automating manual processes. Clear written and verbal communication skills suitable for working with senior stakeholders.

About you
You are motivated by impact and excited by markets. You value rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning. You are proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and tools. You are willing to pursue relevant qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or similar to deepen your expertise.

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience in investment analytics, asset management, or portfolio management support. Familiarity with financial data and time series concepts, including basic data handling best practices. Understanding of multi-asset portfolios, asset allocation concepts, and common risk measures. Exposure to building or maintaining quantitative tools, models, or dashboards used in investment processes. Willingness to pursue relevant professional qualifications.
