About the Role
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking a full-time, experienced Wigs, Hair and Make-Up Assistant to join the West End production of The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov, adapted by Conor McPherson and directed by Ian Rickson at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Duties and responsibilities will align with those expected of a Wigs, Hair and Make-Up Assistant on a first-class West End production. The role requires excellent wig setting and dressing skills, make-up application expertise, and experience in styling Afro-textured hair and men’s hair. This is a fixed-term contract starting Monday, 28th September 2026 until Saturday, 9th January 2027, subject to two weeks’ notice by the Producer as per the SOLT/BECTU Agreement. Experience
Previous experience in a similar role on a large-scale or West End production is essential. Proven skills in wig setting, dressing, make-up application, and styling Afro-textured and men’s hair are required.

Professional, reliable, and skilled in all aspects of wigs, hair, and make-up for theatre. Able to work effectively within a fast-paced West End production environment. Commitment to the full contract period and eligibility to work in the UK are mandatory.
