About the Role
We offer you the chance to start your career and make a real difference. The programme length is two years and is rotational: Year 1 consists of two 6-month placements and Year 2 includes one 12-month placement. You’ll rotate across teams, gaining exposure to different areas of financial services – from economic analysis and policy to strategic research and regulation. From day one, you’ll help deliver important work, expand your capabilities, and start building a career that has lasting impact.
On our Economics Graduate Programme, you’ll use economic thinking to help solve some of the most important challenges facing financial services. Through a combination of analysis, research, policy development and strategic insight, you’ll contribute to work that helps protect consumers, improve market integrity and support effective regulation. Over two years, you'll complete rotational placements across a range of FCA areas, including policy, research and competition, giving you broad exposure to how economics shapes regulatory decision-making.
You’ll develop solid analytical and problem-solving skills, deepen your understanding of financial markets and build the confidence to help shape real-world results. Your first two rotations will be confirmed before you join the programme, providing a solid foundation in economics and regulation. When selecting your final rotation, we’ll consider your interests, strengths and career aspirations alongside business priorities, helping you explore opportunities that align with both your interests and the FCA’s strategic objectives.
By the end of the programme, you’ll have developed the technical skills, professional network and practical experience needed to build a rewarding career in the Economics profession.

We invest in your future from day one. Our two-year rotational programme combines meaningful work experience with a structured learning journey, giving you access to professional development programmes, specialist training and career-building opportunities.
