Salary

About the Role
We are seeking a high calibre Accountant to join our Finance Operations team within the Capital and Leasing team, focusing on Capital accounting. The team plays a central role in BBC Finance, delivering integrated, sustainable, and high-quality accounting and reporting services across the BBC Group. Key responsibilities include maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, performing aged AUC and depreciation reviews, conducting asset verifications, undertaking impairment reviews, and providing SME advice on accounting treatment at Project Review Meetings. You will contribute to financial reporting processes, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, manage transactions in the ERP general ledger, support internal and external audits, collaborate with key stakeholders, and document accounting judgements in line with BBC policies. This role demands operational excellence and professional financial support to a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.

Experience
- Hold a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Significant experience delivering a high-quality accounting service.
- Experience in capital accounting or accounting for capital projects is highly beneficial.
- Proven ability to manage a range of stakeholders across the business.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and explain complex financial data to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, controls, and practical application.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
