About the Role
Step into the world of BBC Studios, a globally renowned content studio and channels & streaming business powered by British creativity. As a Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs Executive, you will provide vital legal expertise, support, and strong negotiating skills across a variety of projects. You will collaborate closely with teams within the organisation, offering comprehensive support in drafting, negotiation, and contract management for a wide range of productions and development agreements. Your role will include advising on contract terms, foreign production shoots, employment of foreign artists, copyright clearance, framework agreements, and contributor fees.
You will ensure the necessary rights are acquired for primary and secondary programme exploitation, build and maintain effective collaborative relationships internally and externally, and ensure BBC Studios’ policies and standards are adhered to with a pan-BBC approach. Additionally, you will assist in mitigating legal, contractual, and business affairs risks while managing brand and IP protection. You will also use software tools to manage contractual documentation and maintain accurate records.

Experience
- Proven experience negotiating contracts
- Track record of managing and delivering projects to deadlines
- Ability to examine and summarise complex data
- Broad interest and knowledge of broadcasting, media, current market intelligence, and global media trends

Qualifications
- Legal education or qualifications are not essential but would be advantageous
- Business affairs experience in television, radio, and/or digital media is desirable
