About the Role
As an Activity Worker, you will coordinate a programme of ward activities and support service users to engage in a variety of activity opportunities. You will supervise patients as delegated within your competence and accompany them to on- and off-site venues aligned with their care plans. You will observe and report on patients’ behaviour, abilities, and progress with activities, recording interventions under supervision in multi-disciplinary notes. Maintaining a safe environment is essential, including negotiating plans with the shift co-coordinator and being aware of your own safety. You will act as a resource to help patients continue their interests and skills post-discharge and involve patients and carers in decision-making related to activity planning. Regular training in the prevention and management of violence will be provided as required. Additional duties will be undertaken in consultation with the ward Occupational Therapist. This role requires flexibility to work across various Trust locations as needed.

Experience
Experience working with mental health patients or in a healthcare setting is desirable but not explicitly stated.
