Up to £37,045 plus 10% bonus (dependent on experience)

About the Role
As an Administrator supporting the Intellectual Property (IP) team at Canon, you will play a key role in managing patent filing and office action deadlines, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include docketing all incoming deadlines and official actions from patent offices, updating patent portfolio records, and assisting with the preparation and filing of patent applications with national and international patent offices such as UKIPO, EPO, and WIPO. You will provide general administrative support including drafting routine correspondence, processing invoices, and supporting internal and external communications. Confidentiality and a proactive, can-do attitude are essential as you work collaboratively with colleagues, patent attorneys, managers, and clients to deliver excellent service.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience providing legal or administrative support is preferred. Exposure to Intellectual Property (IP), patents, or trademarks is advantageous but not essential.

- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
- Professional working proficiency in English; additional European language skills are desirable

Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. A CIPA qualification is preferred but not essential.
