About the Role
Arondite enables organisations to wield autonomy, data and AI at scale. We equip operators with foundational software to orchestrate their mix of platforms and capabilities, enabling mission-critical decisions faster than adversaries. Our technology is designed for deployment in the world’s most austere environments and is relied upon by the world’s most demanding operators. Joining Arondite means becoming part of a high-tempo, ambitious company backed by globally renowned investors including Index Ventures (Anthropic, Wiz, Figma, Revolut). We value exceptional people who thrive on challenging work and deliver outsized impact. You will collaborate with brilliant minds to solve some of the world’s hardest and most important problems, with ownership and autonomy from Day One.
As an AI Engineer, you will understand customer problems and implement AI solutions within a mission-focused team. Your work will involve creating advanced agentic designs and engineering the infrastructure to deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) capable of taking actions in highly controlled and compliant environments. This role pioneers safe and effective applications of agentic AI in high-stakes scenarios. Depending on your expertise, you may also work on perception by applying state-of-the-art object detection and multi-modal algorithms (such as CLIP and CLAP) across diverse, real-time sensor streams.
Success in this role requires strong architectural intuition, deep understanding of technical trade-offs in model selection, and the ability to identify optimal agentic design patterns for specific tasks. Your responsibilities will include building core agentic product features, collaborating with engineers to integrate AI into enterprise software, designing end-to-end AI solutions from backend to user interface, and deploying them in cloud and on-premise environments. You will invent novel capabilities, optimize existing approaches while considering ethical implications, document solutions to ensure compliance with AI safety policies, and build secure, robust solutions adhering to coding standards throughout the development lifecycle.
Experience
- Masters degree (MSc, MEng, etc) in computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related engineering field
- Minimum 1 year of experience developing agentic AI in production-ready environments
- At least 3 years of relevant hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms
- Proficiency in writing clean and maintainable code in Python, Rust, C++ or Java
- Strong background in mathematical foundations of core ML algorithms
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow
- Experience with agentic orchestration ecosystems (LangGraph, Google ADK) and Model Context Protocol tooling (RustMCP)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work effectively and present to stakeholders
- Passion for identifying and implementing pragmatic AI and conventional algorithm solutions
About You
You are motivated by solving hard problems using AI, enjoy working in a high-performance, mission-driven environment, and thrive with autonomy and ownership. You embrace collaboration with brilliant colleagues and are committed to ethical engineering practices. You are excited to work primarily from the office in London and are willing to travel to visit customers as needed.
Qualifications
- Ideally, a PhD in machine learning or a related field
- Authored publications in top-tier journals and conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, EMNLP)
- Experience with MLOps infrastructure and deploying AI models to production, including monitoring, testing, and quality assurance
- Experience working with AI in regulated environments
- Experience creating and optimising state-of-the-art AI models for resource-constrained hardware
Additional Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK at the time of application
- Willingness to undergo UK security vetting to Security Check (SC) or above, including continuous UK residency for at least 5 years
