About the Role
Leigh Stationers' Academy is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art and Photography Technician to support the teaching and learning within the Art department. This role involves preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining and monitoring consumables and equipment, and ensuring all students have access to a wide range of materials and processes. You will also provide technical support to staff during lessons as required. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for current Post 16 students or recent school leavers to gain valuable paid experience in an educational setting. The role is part of the Leigh Academies Trust, which offers a competitive salary with progression opportunities, membership in the Local Government Pension Scheme, 24/7 access to a free virtual GP service, a collaborative multi-academy trust network, and additional benefits through LAT.
Experience
Previous experience is not essential but enthusiasm for Art and Photography and a willingness to learn are vital. This role is ideal for those seeking first-hand experience in a school environment.
About you
You will be passionate about Art and Photography, an effective communicator, and able to use your own initiative. A flexible ‘can do’ attitude is essential, along with a commitment to providing excellent service to staff and students. You should be adaptable to changing circumstances and open to embracing new ideas.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will hold an A Level or equivalent qualification in one or more Art-related subjects. However, a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the role are equally important.
