About the Role
Join the Building Safety Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as an Assistant Building Safety Manager. You will support Building Safety Managers in ensuring building safety compliance across properties within your management. This role involves site inspections, gathering building information, and assisting in the creation of Building Safety Case Reports. You will collaborate closely with Lead Building Safety Managers, the Head of Service, the Director of Building Compliance & Engagement, and the Strategic Building Safety Team.

You will promote, communicate, and engage across the organisation on building safety matters, working with residents, leaseholders, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Clear and confident communication is essential. You will actively contribute to ‘whole building safety’ discussions in meetings and help raise the profile and awareness of the Building Safety Team’s objectives and activities.

This role ensures fire safety and building safety activities are accurately tracked and traceable through the Golden Thread, providing sufficient evidence to all stakeholders. Responsibilities include contract management of consultants and service providers to source and provide building safety information for buildings under your remit.

You will support Building Safety Managers in fulfilling duties required by the Building Safety Act and secondary legislation, ensuring buildings are safe to occupy and comply with relevant regulations. You will regularly review maintenance and testing activities, assess potential risks including fire and structural matters, and deliver high-quality building safety management aligned with policy, procedures, legislation, and government guidance.

If you are motivated to contribute to building safety and resident wellbeing, we encourage you to apply.
