As part of the Darlington Economic Campus, a cross-government hub, you will work closer to communities and tackle key national issues.
Your responsibilities will include delivering analysis to support the annual uprating decision of the National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage, leading on modelling to support policy decisions, and providing advice and briefings to senior officials and ministers. You will collaborate with analytical, policy, and strategy colleagues across HM Treasury and other government departments such as the Department for Business and Trade and the Department for Work and Pensions to deliver key government objectives including reducing youth unemployment and delivering a genuine living wage.
You will help build and communicate HM Treasury’s understanding of wider labour market evidence, including the effects of artificial intelligence, engaging with academia and think tanks. Conducting microeconomic analysis using data sources like the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings and the Labour Force Survey, you will model policy impacts on employment and present your analytical conclusions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications
A degree with at least a 2:1 classification and an economics component of at least 50%. Evidence of this qualification will be required if invited to interview.
