With ongoing growth and development, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Building Control Surveyor to join our dynamic, high-performing Building Control Team.

This permanent role offers career progression and valuable experience across a wide range of construction projects, from small to large complex developments. You will work closely with Principal and Senior Building Control Surveyors to deliver a high-quality service to clients and ensure the Council’s statutory functions are effectively discharged.

As a Chartered professional or working towards chartership (RICS, CABE, CIOB), you will bring construction industry experience and knowledge of Building Control across a broad spectrum of buildings. You will make pragmatic and value-based decisions on compliance with Building Regulations, driving forward new schemes within the Borough and helping to turn our vision into reality.

You will contribute to delivering an efficient and effective Building Control service, including making decisions on allocated Building Regulation applications, notices, and matters as directed by the Building Control Manager, ensuring quality developments in line with legislation, industry guidelines, and internal targets.

Experience
Preferably substantial experience in Building Regulations and Building Control within the construction industry. Experience working with a wide range of building types and construction projects is essential.

About you
Chartered or working towards chartership with RICS, CABE, CIOB or equivalent professional body. Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work collaboratively within a team. You will have strong decision-making skills, a pragmatic approach to compliance, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services. A clean, current driving licence and use of your own car are required.

Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications in Building Control or related construction disciplines. Membership or progression towards membership of a recognised professional body (RICS, CABE, CIOB) is expected.
