About the Role
Hackney Borough Council is seeking a highly organised and motivated Consultation Officer to join our Parking Operations team on a 10-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity. Hackney is a dynamic and progressive borough in the heart of London, known for its diverse communities and commitment to equity, inclusion, and innovation.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all consultation documents are designed and printed within agreed timescales, continually improving service performance to meet the needs of our residents and businesses. You will collect, handle, and analyse large volumes of information, presenting findings clearly to both professional and lay audiences.

You will act as a key point of contact for queries from our diverse community, responding clearly via email and telephone, and building strong relationships with other Council departments. The role requires the ability to investigate complex queries and provide fair outcomes across multiple communication channels.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service with a genuine desire to help residents and businesses
- Experience collecting, handling, and analysing large amounts of information, including numerical data
- Experience managing and prioritising competing demands and meeting strict deadlines
- Experience writing high-quality reports for a range of audiences, including Councillors and senior managers
- Good understanding of a variety of IT packages and experience using Google GSuite
- Ability to interpret consultation feedback and deal effectively with contentious issues
