About the Role
As a Building Services Craftsman (Mechanical) at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, you will be responsible for understanding the workings of engineering services and systems within NHS/Trust premises. Your role will ensure that all plant and equipment are maintained to a high standard and operated safely and efficiently. You will identify and communicate defects and action plans to your supervisor through physical inspections, reviewing statutory inspection reports, and observations of building, plant, and equipment usage. Additionally, you will support the development of quality management processes by capturing tasks in simple flow charts that reflect the steps and procedures used, contributing to continuous improvement and compliance within the Trust.
Experience
Experience in mechanical building services maintenance or engineering within a healthcare or similar environment is desirable. Ability to conduct inspections and identify defects in plant and equipment is essential.

Strong communication skills are required to effectively report findings and collaborate with supervisors and team members. A willingness to support quality management initiatives and adapt to evolving procedures is important.
Qualifications
Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications or certifications are preferred. Knowledge of statutory inspection requirements and experience using CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) systems would be advantageous.
