About the Role
Make a real difference to residents’ homes, safety and wellbeing by joining Peabody’s Repairs Team as an experienced Building Surveyor specialising in legal disrepair cases. You will lead the delivery of disrepair cases end-to-end, ensuring residents receive a high-quality and timely service compliant with the Housing Disrepair Protocol. This specialist surveying role involves inspecting properties, diagnosing defects, gathering clear evidence, producing accurate reports and schedules within one week, specifying works, estimating costs, managing contractors, monitoring delivery, carrying out post-inspections, and signing off works. You will maintain strong communication with residents throughout the process and support legal procedures by keeping accurate records. Dedicated administrative support is provided to manage appointment scheduling and case administration, allowing you to focus on inspections, reports, repair specifications, and contractor management.

Additional Information
A Basic DBS check is required (facilitated by Peabody). A driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
Experience
Strong experience in legal disrepair within social housing, including managing disrepair cases compliant with the Housing Disrepair Protocol. Skilled in inspections, report writing, contractor management, and knowledge of building defects, legislation, and construction standards.
About You
Organised and able to manage a fast-paced caseload while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills to maintain strong relationships with residents and stakeholders. Ability to deliver high-quality technical services and support legal processes effectively.
Qualifications
Degree in Building Surveying, Building Pathology, or a similar technical qualification (HND or HNC in Building Surveying or Building Pathology). Ideally RICS affiliated.
