About the Role
Join Peabody as a Housing Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of young people aged 18–25, including care leavers, supporting them on their journey to independence. This role is not a care position but focuses on providing practical and emotional support to help young people build life skills, access housing, and feel empowered to shape their futures.

You will support young people to develop skills for independent living such as navigating housing options, managing benefits, and budgeting. Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where young people feel respected and empowered is key. Bringing your own passions—whether in music, art, sports, or other interests—will help enrich the community and build meaningful connections. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure timely and appropriate support for each individual.

Peabody is committed to values including Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and empowering workplace culture.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with young people, particularly those who have faced trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse is highly valued. Transferable experience from youth work, education, housing, or similar sectors is desirable.

About you
You connect easily with young people and are creative and confident in engaging them through music, sports, art, or other interests. You can work independently and as part of a team, managing a caseload and supporting residents with budgeting, benefits, and housing options. Strong communication and IT skills are essential, along with an understanding of safeguarding, support plans, or key working.

Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements stated for this role, but relevant experience and a proactive, empathetic approach are important.
