About the Role
Home-Start Sutton is an independent local charity supporting families with at least one child under five in the London Borough of Sutton. We provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to families facing challenges such as mental health issues, isolation, domestic abuse, financial hardship, or disability. By recruiting and training local volunteers, we help parents build confidence, resilience, and stronger relationships with their children.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Administrator Level 3 Apprentice to provide vital administration, digital, and marketing communication support to our team. This role is ideal for someone starting a career in business administration, non-profit management, or digital marketing. You will help keep our operations running smoothly and engage our community effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Digital and Social Media Support
- Schedule social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Design engaging graphics and flyers for local fundraising events using Canva
- Draft monthly newsletters for volunteers, donors, and community partners
- Update the charity website with events, news blogs, and resource links
- Grow the WhatsApp Channel to connect families with local drop-in sessions
Business and Office Administration (including CRM Support)
- Enter accurate referral data into Charitylog CRM for new families and children
- Track volunteer activity logs and match volunteers to local support opportunities
- Perform weekly CRM data quality checks to correct missing information
- Generate basic impact reports to assist managers with funding applications
- Monitor central email inboxes and respond to routine public inquiries
- Prepare resources and meeting rooms for volunteer training and trustee sessions
- Order and monitor office supplies including marketing materials
Events and Project Assistance
- Promote local fundraising initiatives such as Quiz Nights and community fairs
- Support logistics for family drop-in groups
- Collect and archive family stories, testimonials, and photos for impact reporting
Supporting the Charity
- Support implementation and review of Home-Start policies and procedures
- Comply with administration, monitoring, and financial systems
- Contribute to the development of the Home-Start network locally, regionally, and nationally
- Implement policies including equality and diversity, safeguarding, health, and safety
- Seek opportunities to promote the service across Sutton and online

Qualifications
5 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 including Maths and English or equivalent.
Training to be Provided
You will attend Kingston College for off-the-job training. The apprenticeship will develop your knowledge of organisational operations, functional processes, and the wider working environment. You will gain skills in record and document production, decision making, planning, organisation, and project management, preparing you for career progression.
