About the Role
You will provide a Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Service to a range of young people in schools and, when required, in the community. This role involves delivering accessible, non-judgemental, client-centred and confidential information, advice and guidance to individuals and groups of young people aged 13 to 19 (up to 25 for those with SEND). You will also support the tracking, recording and monitoring of young people living and/or educated in the borough of Ealing. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in Ealing and contribute to the borough’s connected communities agenda. The post is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process and an enhanced disclosure and barring check as part of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
Experience
Experience of working with young people in a careers adviser, mentoring or supportive role is essential.
About you
You are committed to making a difference to young people’s lives and able to provide client-centred, confidential and non-judgemental advice and guidance. You have strong interpersonal skills and are motivated to support young people aged 13 to 19 (up to 25 with SEND). You are willing to work flexibly within schools and the community and support the monitoring and tracking of young people in the borough.
Qualifications
Applicants should either have, or be undertaking, a relevant Level 6 professional qualification in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) or equivalent. For the apprenticeship pathway, applicants must have substantial experience working with young people in a mentoring or supportive role and a commitment to completing the Level 6 qualification and apprenticeship program within the agreed timeframe.
