Lambeth Legal Services is an in-house practice dedicated to providing high quality, effective, and value for money legal services to support the Council’s officers and members. We are passionate about innovation and excellence, working to meet the evolving needs of our borough and council.

You will join a specialist child litigation team providing expert legal advice and support in all aspects of child protection and welfare law. The team delivers cost-effective, high quality, accurate, strategic, and solutions-focused legal advice and representation, upholding our core values.

This role involves managing a busy and challenging caseload while supporting senior colleagues in delivering a dynamic and fast-paced legal service. You will work within a friendly, supportive, and collaborative team environment, contributing to positive change within the community.

We offer a £5,000 welcome bonus for legally qualified new starters, payable 50% after 6 months and 50% after 12 months in the role.

Experience
Qualified solicitor, barrister, or CILEx with a current practising certificate and experience in childcare/child litigation.

Enthusiastic, highly organised, proactive, flexible, and able to work under pressure. You must be able to manage competing deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team. A strong commitment to the role and the values of equity, kindness, accountability, and ambition is essential.

Qualifications
This post requires a current practising certificate as a solicitor, barrister, or CILEx. Experience in childcare law and local government law is essential. The role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
