About the Role
Lambeth Council is seeking a Practitioner Manager to join the Adult Social Care Mental Health Service within the Living Well Network Alliance (LWNA). This is a unique opportunity to work in an integrated model alongside key partners including South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Certitude, Thames Reach, and South London ICB to deliver coordinated mental health services.
The Practitioner Manager will manage the daytime social care service alongside the Team Manager, ensuring delivery of a quality, responsive, safe, and person-centred service that promotes the well-being of Lambeth residents. The role includes leading on specialist areas across services and jointly managing some service areas with other Practitioner Managers.
Responsibilities include supervising up to 8 social care staff, ensuring statutory assessments are assigned and completed timely and to quality standards, supporting social workers with case management including complex cases, safeguarding, court of protection, and authorising assessments. The Practitioner Manager will also support professional development through regular 1:1s and appraisals, and may lead on service development initiatives.

Experience
Qualified social worker with significant post-qualifying experience. Previous management experience and experience working within mental health services is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications
Qualified social worker status is essential. Familiarity with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act is required.
