About the Role
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in children's lives in Southwark? We are seeking qualified social workers to join our Safeguarding & Family Support Service to help ensure children in Southwark are safe and happy at home. This role offers the opportunity to work within a systemically-informed, relationship-based approach that prioritises each child's needs, working purposefully with families to manage risk, promote positive outcomes, and create lasting change.
You will join a friendly, dedicated team of professionals committed to positive outcomes for children and families. We strive to keep caseloads manageable so you can focus fully on the children and families who need your support most. Under the guidance of experienced Team Managers, you will build positive relationships, run child in need and child protection plans tailored to each child's unique needs, and be the driving force behind positive change. Experience with child protection, child in need, and court work is essential.
Our Children's Services was recently graded ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted, with children describing the council as “special” and “like a family to them.” We offer regular one-to-one and group supervisions, alongside key development and training opportunities to support your growth as a social worker.
We provide a diverse range of training courses and specialist teams including Family Support Workers, Keeping Families Together, Parenting Assessment, and intensive therapeutic services through our SWIFT/clinical service. We offer agile and flexible working arrangements, clear career development pathways, and a strong supportive senior management team.
