About the Role
Be a hero to a young person in care by becoming an Independent Visitor (IV) - a volunteer mentor and trusted friend. As an IV, you will visit a young person in care once a month to enjoy fun, supportive activities together, providing consistent, caring support outside their professional network. This long-term role helps build strong, stable relationships that can be life changing for young people facing instability. Activities may include trips to the cinema, bowling, exploring parks, or simply spending time chatting. You will also keep in touch between visits if the young person wishes and occasionally join group events. Full initial training, ongoing support, and one-to-one supervision will be provided, along with access to additional training resources. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a positive difference in a young person’s life and create lasting memories.
