About the Role
Are you looking to use your commercial expertise to deliver impact at the heart of UK democracy? As a Commercial Manager (Services & Suppliers) within the Parliamentary Commercial Directorate (PCD), you will play a vital role in ensuring Parliament has the goods and services it needs to operate effectively, from catering and heritage items to security and furnishings. Working across both the House of Commons and House of Lords, this role offers the opportunity to shape how Parliament delivers best value for money for the taxpayer, while supporting projects on one of the most recognisable UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, the Palace of Westminster.
You will lead and support a range of commercial procurements, ensuring they meet user needs and align with category strategies. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will manage stakeholder relationships across Parliament, advise on procurement legislation, and deliver sourcing activities that keep Parliament running efficiently and sustainably.
This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of spending 40% of your time in the office.
Experience
- Demonstrable commercial experience with evidence of successful outcomes
- Good understanding of public sector procurement legislation, including the Public Contracts Regulations (2015) and the Procurement Act (2023)
- Competent with IT and e-tendering systems, using data and reporting tools to inform decisions

- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels to achieve positive results
- Highly organised and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities, apply initiative, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Interest in procurement and a commitment to delivering value and sustainability
Qualifications
- Level 4 CIPS qualification, equivalent experience or other relevant qualifications preferred
- Candidates seeking to achieve CIPS Level 4 may be supported through an apprenticeship option
