Band C Salary between £28,000 - £44,000 per annum based on knowledge and experience. London Weighting Allowance of £5,319 also offered.

About the Role
Step into the world of BBC Studios, a globally renowned content studio and channels & streaming business powered by British creativity. As a Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs Executive, you will provide legal expertise, support, and strong negotiating skills across a variety of projects. You will collaborate closely with teams within the organisation to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts for productions and development agreements. Your role will include advising on contract terms, foreign production shoots, employment of foreign artists, copyright clearance, framework agreements, and contributor fees.

You will ensure the necessary rights are acquired for primary and secondary programme exploitation and work collaboratively with internal departments including Commissioning, Editorial Policy, legal and business affairs teams, and BBC Studios Distribution. You will help ensure BBC Studios' policies and standards are adhered to, mitigating legal, contractual, and business affairs risks while managing brand and IP protection. Additionally, you will use software tools to manage contractual documentation and maintain accurate records.

This role is part of the BBC Extend programme for disabled people, aimed at creating an inclusive and accessible recruitment process and workplace.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience negotiating contracts
- Track record of managing and delivering projects to deadlines
- Ability to examine and summarise complex data
- Business-oriented and commercial approach enabling quick response to market changes
- Informed and broad interest in broadcasting and media, with knowledge of current market intelligence and global media trends

You are a collaborative and trusted advisor who builds and maintains effective working relationships internally and externally. You are adaptable, proactive, and committed to upholding high standards of compliance and risk mitigation in legal and business affairs.

Qualifications
Legal education or qualifications are not essential but would be an advantage. Business affairs experience in television, radio, and/or digital media is desirable.
