The role of Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs Manager involves acting as a principal advisor for the business and Legal Affairs team, representing BBC Studios boards when required. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing a wide range of legal and business affairs activities throughout production stages, ensuring compliance with policies and frameworks.

Key responsibilities include strategy development and implementation to secure competitive commercial deals, partnering across legal and business teams, negotiation and contracting of global commissioning deals, advising on production risks and compliance, risk management, and senior-level representation of Business & Legal Affairs with authority and diplomacy.

Requirements

Experience
Legal qualifications are essential. Proven experience negotiating content contracts and securing competitive terms with commissioners. Comprehensive knowledge of legal and commercial issues related to producing content for commissioners. Demonstrated ability to operate with a commercial mindset and respond quickly to market changes. Skilled in conflict resolution and devising balanced solutions.

About you
Highly business-oriented with strong negotiation skills. Confident in forging excellent relationships across legal and business teams. Able to represent Business & Legal Affairs at senior leadership levels with credibility, tact, and diplomacy. Entrepreneurial and innovative, able to propose solutions to complex business problems.

Desirable
Knowledge of and experience in television content production. Experience leading change and innovation in complex, competitive environments.

Qualifications
Legal qualifications required.
