About the Role
We are seeking a creative and curious Content Creator Apprentice to join our communications team. This hands-on role involves developing engaging content across multiple platforms including social media, print, and digital. The main purpose is to help shape the council’s approach to engaging a younger audience through compelling content creation.

Working to briefs, you will plan, research, and produce written, visual, and audio materials that support wider media, marketing, and documentation campaigns. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, comfortable working with a range of media formats, and eager to learn how to connect messages with audiences in meaningful and measurable ways.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across communications and contribute to the full content lifecycle: from planning and creation to storage, distribution, and evaluation. Additionally, you will work alongside the council’s youth participation team to understand Merton’s young people and create content that resonates with them.

As part of this role, you will complete the Content Creation Apprenticeship Level 3, delivered by provider JGA. This programme will develop your knowledge, skills, and behaviours essential for effective content creation and communications practice, including audience understanding, content production, data-informed decision making, campaign planning, and brand application.

Experience
No prior experience is required. Enthusiasm for content creation and a willingness to learn are essential.

A keen interest in digital media, social platforms, and youth engagement will be advantageous.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required to apply. You will undertake the Content Creation Apprenticeship Level 3 as part of this role, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in communications and content production.
