About the Role
Merton Council is seeking a Digital Communications Officer to join our Communications and Engagement team. You will lead on digital content creation for the council, managing projects from storyboard to final edit. Your work will include producing videos, graphics, and social media posts that inform and engage residents across multiple channels. You will also manage paid social campaigns, monitor their performance, and use insights to improve results.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the council, provide advice to senior officers and members on digital strategies, and participate in the press office rota, which includes out-of-hours cover and newsletter duties.

Experience
- A strong portfolio of creative, original digital content
- Skills in video editing tools such as CapCut and Canva
- Experience running paid social campaigns on Meta and Google platforms
- Ability to identify and leverage social media trends for local government communication
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment

Qualifications
