Community Centre Assistant
Location
Mobile across North and East London, with occasional cover in South London.
Hours
Full Time - 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with ad hoc evening and weekend work as required.
Salary
£26,775 per annum plus Essential Car User allowance (£1,300 per annum)*
About the Role
Join the Foundation Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) and be part of a motivated, forward-thinking group dedicated to supporting tenants and their families through employment, tenancy support, and educational opportunities. As a Community Centre Assistant, you will play an integral role within the Community Asset London Team, providing operational support for the day-to-day running of community centres primarily in North and East London, with occasional cover in South London.
Your responsibilities will include weekly travel to centres to complete and record Health and Safety compliance and building safety checks, using IT systems to report repairs and manage bookings, setting up rooms according to booking requirements, arranging refreshments, general cleaning and maintenance, providing excellent customer support, and opening and closing buildings including some evenings and weekends.

Experience
Previous caretaking experience or similar customer-facing role with knowledge of health and safety compliance is desirable.
About you
A passionate and positive attitude with excellent customer service skills to deliver customer-focused solutions. Good communication and interpersonal skills, a flexible and positive approach to work, and strong organisational abilities are essential. You must be able to travel between centres, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for Business Use are required.
Good IT skills with experience using Microsoft programs and in-house systems are also necessary.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required; however, possession or ability to obtain a Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate is mandatory to work within the team.
