About the Role
Strengthen how we manage our contracts, build lasting supplier partnerships and deliver value for our residents. As the Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Officer, you will lead the development and embedding of best practices in contract management across the Council. Working within the Strategic Procurement Service, your expertise will help optimise contract performance, improve supplier relationships, and achieve long-term value for money.
This new and exciting role involves acting as the Council’s Practice Lead, driving continuous improvement of contract management standards across all departments. You will embed the Council’s Contract Management Framework (CMF), support contract owners to deliver high-quality outcomes, and promote a consistent, professional approach to supplier management.
You will provide expert advice on contract delivery, KPIs, and governance, enabling teams to monitor performance and manage supplier risk effectively. A key responsibility is developing colleagues by training and supporting contract managers across RBKC, fostering a strong community that shares learning and good practice.
Additionally, you will support the Council’s medium-term financial strategy by identifying opportunities for efficiency, increased income, and smarter contract outcomes. Your role includes contributing to corporate reporting, leading market and supplier risk assessments, and advising on complex commercial or negotiation matters.
This strategic position also involves shaping new policies and guidance, supporting compliance with upcoming Public Procurement Regulations (2025), and addressing cross-cutting issues such as Social Value, carbon reduction, modern slavery, and innovation. You will support work linked to the Grenfell Inquiry recommendations to ensure contract management reflects the Council’s commitment to accountability and excellence.
Working in this role means making a tangible impact on how the Council manages contracts that deliver essential services to residents, while being part of a dedicated team focused on smarter, more sustainable outcomes.
