About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Corporate Debt Officer within the Finance and Assurance Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering invoices to clients and managing the collection and recovery of sundry and corporate debts from residents and businesses who engage with the authority. This role involves supporting the Corporate Debt Team Leaders and acting as the first point of referral and advice for less experienced staff regarding procedures, legislation, and training. You will play a key role in ensuring effective debt recovery and compliance with relevant legislation, contributing to the financial health of the Council.

Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in debt management and recovery, preferably within the temporary housing sector or sundry debts.
- Experience using IT and financial systems for chasing customer debt.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.

About You
- Understanding of debt management and recovery legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of central government welfare benefits and social care legislation.
- Familiarity with other Council debts.
- Good understanding of office computer systems, security measures, and office policies and procedures.
