About the Role
London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join its Children & Young Adults Disabilities Services (CYADS) supporting the 0-25 service. This role requires strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Children’s Act 1989. You will provide advice and support to Social Workers, Care Managers, and Social Care Assistants on casework, chair Professional Meetings and Case Conferences as appropriate, and deputise as Duty Manager managing the daily duty system. Responsibilities include recording actions and decisions clearly and robustly on the Mosaic database, undertaking complex enquiries, and liaising with internal and external colleagues to ensure effective service delivery.

Requirements

Experience
- Extensive knowledge of legislation and policies related to the adults’ agenda.
- Detailed working knowledge of guidance and procedures relevant to the service area.
- Significant experience in care management responsibilities, advising and guiding less experienced staff.
- Experience working on duty in any social work setting.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and operational management.
- Ability to write reports suitable for internal and external forums.
- Ability to supervise Social Workers on cases.

About You
- Expert in MS Office skills and adopting technology into processes.
- Ability to travel for business purposes.
- Commitment to occasionally work unsocial hours, such as evening visits or completing ongoing investigations.

Qualifications
- Social Work Qualification (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent).
- Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
- Practice Educator / Best Interest Assessor or willingness to train in these roles.
