About the Role
As an experienced Cost Engineering Professional at Turner & Townsend, you will establish the required processes, templates, and tools, agree the baseline for cost and schedule, and monitor performance against it while incorporating the impacts of risk, opportunities, and change in a controlled manner. You will identify trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline using lead and lag indicators and recommend remedial actions to drive best value for the client. You will lead the evaluation of the project’s time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls as necessary to enable successful project delivery. Cooperating with a remote team of cost managers, you will help reach an agreed, market-tested cost baseline and ensure the client receives value for money. You will guide and influence the general contractor to progress in line with the schedule and within agreed cash flow parameters. Acting as the key point of contact to the client, you will overcome delivery and commercial issues while preparing formal and ad hoc reports focusing on time, cost, and quality targets. You will control costs through your knowledge of conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, contingency principles, and procurement principles. You will create and/or work within cost reports, summarizing financials in an executive-level dashboard. You will lead the agreed change management process and workflow, providing a platform for adding, tracking, monitoring, and approving change. You will coordinate and lead planning sessions and workshops with clients and vendors to compile the master project/programme schedule, agreeing baselines and a critical path. You will understand procurement principles, collate lead times from vendors and clients into the master schedule, and communicate the prioritisation of ordering materials and equipment to meet scheduled install dates. Working closely with the client, you will define vendor schedule requirements. You will actively participate in project team risk evaluations, incorporating defined risks into Monte Carlo simulations to output quantitative impacts on overall project cost and schedule. You will stay informed on project changes, incorporating and communicating these to the project team to allow for approvals in the change management process. You will hold vendors accountable for required schedule updates and reporting to maintain timely and accurate updates of the master schedule, ensuring adherence to defined processes and quality expectations.
