About the Role

We are seeking experienced Cost Planners and Senior Cost Planners with proven expertise in the Infrastructure sector, including Rail, Airports, Highways, Water or Utilities. You will support clients either embedded within their organisations or through ad-hoc projects as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. While primarily working with UK-based clients, there is opportunity to work remotely on global estimating tasks.
As part of our team, you will deliver a wide range of cost planning outputs to support client decision making, including estimate production from Order of Magnitude through to detailed first principles estimates, estimating assurance, support to major programme set up, and estimating data management.
Your responsibilities will include producing accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans in a timely manner, managing the estimating process at project level, producing estimates independently, promoting estimating best practices within the company, and staying current with technical developments to provide best practice advice. You will also prepare estimates and cost plans for large or complex programmes or projects, support change control processes, demonstrate value for money through reporting and benchmarking, and undertake commercial assurance and negotiation of contractor offers.
Experience
Proven relevant experience in estimating and/or quantity surveying within large project environments, particularly in Infrastructure sectors such as Rail, Airports, Highways, Water or Utilities. Experience working with estimating software packages is required.
About you
Detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to work independently and manage estimating processes effectively. Strong communication skills to support development and promotion of estimating best practices. Ability to stay abreast of technical developments and provide expert advice aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying. Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working towards it is essential. Desirable memberships include RICS, CIOB, or A. Cost E.
