About the Role
Join Amazon's AWS Infrastructure Services team and play a key role in transforming network infrastructure by installing and maintaining network cabling in data centers. You will be responsible for moving and implementing large enterprise equipment, installing fiber and copper cabling, and patching cabling between equipment while ensuring safety and security standards are met. This hands-on technical role requires creativity, precision, and a passion for technological innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex scenarios and implement strategic solutions that keep AWS's global network running seamlessly. The role involves travel within and outside the regional work area, requiring a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license. You may be assigned to facilities in various operational stages, including those under development, and will be expected to travel or temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until your assigned facility is operational. AWS Infrastructure Services supports all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continuous customer access to cloud innovation. Experience
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience with networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of networking protocols including HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
- Industry standard certification such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+
About you
- Enthusiastic and motivated to work in a fast-paced technical environment
- Ability to travel or commute over 50 miles to active data center sites as required
- Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license for regional travel
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent minimum
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment is advantageous
- 1+ year experience in roles such as Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, or Data Center Operations preferred
