Data Center Technician


Location
Slough, Berkshire
Hours
Shift work including rotating shifts (morning/late/night) and weekends to maintain a 24/7 data center environment. On-call rotation for emergency calls may be required.

About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to cloud innovation for customers worldwide. As a Data Center Technician, you will serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges, working within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware. You will develop expertise in hardware and software troubleshooting, lead resolution of infrastructure issues, and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases. This role involves diagnosing hardware and network problems, performing physical repairs, root cause analysis of equipment failures, and manual handling of equipment in accordance with safety regulations. You will also own safety initiatives and foster a world-class safety culture. Experience
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience in networking and troubleshooting

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- Experience with Linux and networking protocols such as DNS, DHCP, TCP is desirable
