About the Role
Join Lloyds Banking Group as a Data Science Manager within the innovative, collaborative, and highly skilled AI, Data & Engineering team in Group Audit (GA). You will play a hands-on and multifaceted role, working closely with data scientists and engineers, with high visibility to senior management and exposure across the entire Group. This role involves leading multiple data science and application development projects concurrently, designing and delivering AI/ML and generative AI systems on Google Cloud Platform and on-premises environments. You will ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and production-ready while diagnosing complex issues and producing high-quality technical documentation. Acting as a project lead, you will manage stakeholders, apply agile project management practices, and collaborate across the audit function to identify innovative data science opportunities that support audit planning and delivery. You will also acquire auditing and business knowledge to enhance the quality of assurance work and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, you will provide support to end users for existing utilities and contribute to driving innovation within Group Audit.

Experience
- Leading application development and data science projects involving generative AI, machine learning, and natural language processing.
- Designing and implementing infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
- Productionising data and AI models for non-technical users while applying software development best practices.
- Translating data science and AI capabilities into measurable business value.
- Managing peers or junior colleagues on projects, ensuring quality and timeliness, and fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Managing stakeholders and communicating complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Proficiency in mainstream data science programming languages such as Python, and data analytics tools like SQL and PowerBI.
- Reviewing complex code and familiarity with version control.
- Experience in web application development (Django, Bootstrap, jQuery) is desirable.
- Previous financial services, audit, or risk experience is an advantage.
