About the Role
Arondite enables organisations to wield autonomy, data and AI at scale, delivering foundational software to orchestrate platforms and capabilities for mission-critical decision-making. Our technology is designed for deployment in the world’s most austere environments and is relied upon by the world’s most demanding operators. Joining Arondite means working at a pivotal moment in our journey, backed by renowned investors and driven by exceptional people who thrive on high-tempo, challenging work.

As a Deployed AI Engineer, you will work closely with customers to understand their problems and implement AI solutions within a high-performance, mission-focused team. You will deploy AI/ML models both in the cloud and on edge devices in the field, addressing practical challenges such as training data acquisition, ethical considerations, and model explainability.

Responsibilities include designing end-to-end AI solutions from sensor input to user interface, training and productionising robust deep learning models, integrating models into enterprise software and resource-constrained hardware, inventing novel capabilities, optimising existing approaches, and ensuring compliance with safe AI use policies. You will build secure, robust solutions adhering to coding standards throughout the development lifecycle.

This role offers ownership and autonomy from day one, with no corporate ladder—your ambition defines your impact. You will be part of shaping how Arondite exploits the AI revolution both in products and internal processes.

Requirements

Experience
- Masters degree (MSc, MEng, etc) in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics or related engineering field
- 4 years of relevant experience researching and applying modern AI/ML in areas such as scene understanding, multi-modal sensing, control and path planning, or vision-language understanding
- Ability to write clean and maintainable code in Python, Rust, C++ or Java
- Experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow or JAX
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work effectively and present to stakeholders
- Passion for identifying and implementing pragmatic AI and algorithmic solutions to hard problems

About You
We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives and encourage applications even if you do not meet every requirement. You should be motivated by our mission, excited to work in a collaborative office environment by default, and comfortable with regular travel to customer sites in the UK and abroad. You must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo UK security vetting to Security Check (SC) or above, which requires continuous UK residency for at least 5 years.

Qualifications
- Ideally a PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics or related field
- Authored publications in top-tier journals and conferences (e.g. CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, ICRA, IROS, TPAMI)
- Experience with MLOps infrastructure and deploying AI models to production including monitoring, testing and quality assurance
- Understanding of different sensor modalities and methods to process their outputs in challenging scenarios
- Experience creating and optimising state-of-the-art AI models for resource-constrained hardware
- Experience with synthetic data generation, simulation, or management of large real-world datasets
