About the Role

As a Device Integrations Engineer, you will contribute to our extensive instruments library by building, testing, and delivering high-quality drivers that enable complex lab automation integrations. This role sits at the intersection of science, hardware, and software, directly shaping how our customers experience Automata and supporting their success.

Key responsibilities include designing and writing software systems code, supporting users with software issues, writing and executing test scenarios for integrated systems, reviewing peer code to ensure best practices, delivering instrument drivers to customers, owning entire projects with reliable problem-solving, and proposing alternative solutions based on customer needs.

Requirements

Experience
- 3+ years of experience with driver development, preferably in the biotech industry.
- Experience with integrated or embedded systems.
- Experience in start-up environments is a plus.
- Located in greater Boston area and willingness to travel as needed for customer projects and troubleshooting.

Qualifications
- Ideal skills include Python, Protobuf, REST APIs, gRPC, TCP/IP, and serial interface.
- Experience with enterprise software platforms and integrations with lab systems (ELN, LIMS) is desirable but not required.
