About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Digital Development Team during a 7-month maternity cover period. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive forward digital, data and automation initiatives across the council.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, supporting and developing the Digital Development Team to build capability and confidence in digital, data and emerging technologies.
- Overseeing digital transformation projects, system upgrades and service improvements across the organisation.
- Leveraging data and analytics to inform decision-making, improve service delivery and support council priorities, including developing data models, enhancing data quality and strengthening reporting and insight tools.
- Collaborating closely with services to understand user needs and translate them into effective digital solutions and improved processes.
- Ensuring business systems are reliable, secure, well-supported and compliant.
- Evaluating, testing and introducing AI and automation tools where they add value, ensuring solutions are ethical, secure and aligned with organisational needs.
- Providing advice on emerging technologies and shaping their use to modernise services.
- Developing the team’s readiness capabilities for Local Government Reorganisation.
This role requires a proactive leader who can manage projects confidently and build strong cross-team relationships while embracing new technologies including AI.
Experience
Proven experience in leading and developing teams within digital, data or technical environments. Demonstrable ability to manage digital projects and deliver transformation initiatives.
