About the Role
The Directorate of Judicial Engagement Policy (DJEP) was established to enhance the Ministry of Defence's ability to respond to the complex politico-legal environment surrounding military operations. This Fixed-term Appointment as a Disclosure Case Manager within the Disclosure Coordination Unit involves managing and developing disclosure activities for the Independent Inquiry Afghanistan (IIA). You will be responsible for identifying resourcing needs, managing demanding Rule 9 requests and deadlines, and engaging with key stakeholders including the Royal Military Police (RMP) as Core Participants. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively through others, including line management of an EO Assistant Case Manager and oversight of paralegals.

Depending on capacity, you may also work on Northern Ireland Claims and/or Inquests, which may involve occasional travel. Due to the nature of the work and inquiry deadlines, some late working may be required, with time off in lieu offered. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile, complex military operations investigations and litigation, supporting fair and open justice for the MOD and its personnel.
