About the Role
Join the UK Parliament as a Duties Planner and play a key role in ensuring the House of Commons has the right people, in the right place, at the right time. This varied and fast-paced role sits at the heart of security operations, coordinating duties and staffing for a large and diverse team while helping Parliament respond effectively to changing operational demands.
You’ll manage postings, annual leave, overtime and training requests, while monitoring staffing levels, absences and working hours to ensure duties remain compliant with relevant regulations and policies. You’ll work closely with security officers, operational managers and colleagues across the Duties Office, responding to enquiries and resolving staffing challenges with professionalism and sound judgement.
This is an opportunity to develop valuable skills in workforce coordination, administration and operational planning within the unique environment of Parliament. You’ll receive training on the relevant systems and work as part of a supportive team where communication, organisation and people skills are highly valued.
Experience
- Experience in using and managing a range of IT systems, databases, and digital platforms, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience in using a rostering system and scheduling and allocating staff.

- The ability to plan and prioritise well, with the ability to take initiative and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
