38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team within the Wastewater Division. Based at Mogden STW, you will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimum supervision. Your work will ensure all sites remain operational, helping to reduce pollution and positively impact Thames Water's environmental goals.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines. You will work on equipment such as drives, pumps, 3-phase motors, starters, controls, electronic control systems including VSDs, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, and variable speed drives.
You will undertake reactive and planned maintenance, respond to alarms, fault-find, fix or escalate issues, and install new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations. You will record work and asset information to improve business performance and identify future risks, recommending changes as necessary.
Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and developing staff including apprentices will be part of your role. You will deliver excellent customer service, interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.
All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.
Experience
Time-served electrical apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. Experience with 18th Edition wiring regulations preferred but training can be provided.
