About the Role
Tenable is a well-established, family-owned precision engineering company specialising in CNC turned parts and machined components. With over 70 CNC sliding head machines at its London site and more than 250 across the UK, Tenable has built a strong reputation for efficient and economical manufacturing from prototypes to mass production. As an Engineering Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced CNC engineers to develop the skills needed to become a competent precision engineer.
You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, ensuring machinery operates according to specifications, monitoring machine tools and equipment, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Duties include interpreting technical drawings, collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimise machine performance, and adhering strictly to safety protocols and procedures.
During your apprenticeship, you will attend Kingston College for off-the-job training, completing a Level 3 qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. You will develop practical skills in fitting, assembly, testing, and maintenance of engineering components, including reading technical drawings, using hand tools and measuring equipment, carrying out fitting and installation tasks, identifying faults, and working safely to quality standards.
Experience
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a logical and methodical approach. Keen interest in machining processes, materials, and engineering principles. Competent in basic computer skills including data entry, documentation, and use of standard software.

Qualifications
No prior qualifications required. You will undertake a Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering qualification at Kingston College as part of your apprenticeship.
