About the Role
The Segments & Propositions Platform is central to delivering personalised experiences for customers across multiple segments. We design and build propositions that meet diverse customer needs, leveraging data, AI, and modern engineering practices to deliver at pace. As an Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping technology strategy, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring delivery excellence across segmentation and proposition journeys. This role offers the opportunity to lead at scale and influence the future of banking technology.

You will:

- Set technology direction and standards by defining and communicating the vision for Segments & Propositions, partnering with Lead Architects and Product Owners. Establish engineering standards, quality assurance frameworks, and guidelines across the platform.
- Lead the design and delivery of data-driven products and services, enabling advanced analytics and AI capabilities. Champion pathfinder deliveries to explore emerging technologies and accelerate innovation.
- Oversee integration of FinTech solutions, hosting and maintaining models in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring operational resilience, security by design, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide strategic oversight and technical leadership for mobile application delivery on iOS and Android, ensuring seamless integration with platform services and customer journeys through microservices.
- Drive adoption of machine learning for model training, deployment, and monitoring, enabling scalable and secure AI solutions across propositions.
- Create and manage delivery plans, establish governance frameworks, and manage dependencies across multiple teams and initiatives.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to guide, manage, and align technology delivery with their OKRs, ensuring outcomes support strategic priorities.
- Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent. Coach and mentor engineers to build capability in data engineering, cloud-native development, and modern delivery practices.
- Lead geographically dispersed teams across multiple locations, fostering collaboration and inclusion. Implement effective communication and delivery models for distributed agile teams.

Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting technology visions and architecture, with emphasis on data products and platforms.
- Deep understanding of modern engineering practices including microservices, API-driven design, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Proficiency in FinTech integration, deploying and managing models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and designing scalable, secure cloud-native architectures.
- Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and Android and integrating them with enterprise platforms via microservices.
- Knowledge of deploying machine learning models and managing their lifecycle.
- Proven ability to assemble, mentor, and energise top-tier engineering teams, including geographically dispersed groups.
- Strong focus on operational excellence, technology change delivery, continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and risk management.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery, ensuring operational reliability and product velocity.
